LIVING BY DECREASING

I know that one of the most difficult things for us to do is to purge our "stuff", to clean out our closets and to release things that just no longer serve us. Sometimes that can be people or ideas or jobs or relationships, but for sure we all get to that point when we just want less but don't know where to start. Just take a few minutes each day to simplify your life by saying this affirmation:
"I release and let go. I gladly give away all that I no longer need."
I facilitate a personal enrichment group that is studying the lessons of the ancient Tao Te Ching in Dr. Wayne Dyer's book, Change Your Thoughts, Change Your Life. We are focusing this month on Verse 48, Living by Decreasing in which we are asked to change our thinking from believing that the more we amass, the more value we possess as a human being to understanding the wisdom of practicing seeing joy in the natural world, rather than seeking fulfillment in ownership.
Join us by Doing the Tao Now and right this minute, let go of five items that you have in your possession putting them into circulation so that others might find them. Next pick something that has particular value to you and give it away. The more attachment you have to something the greater the joy you'll feel as you let it go. Just choose to purge a few things from your closet, your home, your car, your purse. Clean out all the "stuff" in your mind and decrease the chaos, the stress, the feeling of being driven. I know that as I have said good bye to so many things in my life, my serenity quotient and my sense of inner peace has risen dramatically. Namaste!
